Description The Analytical Sciences Technician works with a group of laboratory professionals to support various projects across the organization by delivering accurate analytical testing of dairy ingredients and fermented products using a wide range of laboratory techniques. The Analytical Sciences Technician reports to the Analytical Sciences Manager.
Responsibilities - Prepare, label, and document samples according to the standard procedure.
- Perform routine, semi-routine, and complex duties associated with various aspects of analytical testing according to the standard laboratory procedures.
- Prepare reagents, buffers, and samples.
- Maintain accurate records and report test results in a timely manner.
- Clean and maintain all glassware and equipment.
- Operates laboratory equipment as detailed in the laboratory procedure.
- Participate in training to improve the accuracy, precision, and efficiency.
- Perform other laboratory tasks when needed.
Schedule and Travel
Typically, work days are 8 hours, Monday through Friday beginning at 8:00am. Occasionally, work hours might be adjusted to accommodate project schedules. Travel is not required.
Qualifications - B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field.
- Excellent laboratory skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Basic computer, including Microsoft Excel, and math skills are preferred.
- Ability to work as a team member and independently.
