TALEA is NYC’s female-founded craft brewery changing the perception of craft beer. We operate 4 (soon to be 5) taprooms across Manhattan and Brooklyn that bring our craft beer as well as cocktails, wine and food to guests through a hospitality-focused experience. We are known for our welcoming environment, female-forward brand, and beautifully designed spaces. TALEA has collaborated with world-renowned brands like Levain, Fishwife, Olipop, and Shake Shack. Our beers are available at Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Costco and hundreds of bars, restaurants, and retailers across NYC and the surrounding areas.

The Role 

TALEA is looking for eager and hard-working beer lovers to join our Beer Crew. The Beer Crew role is an integral part of our taproom experiences. Experience in bartending, serving and other complementary fields will be helpful along with experience in high-touch volume breweries, bars and restaurants; a passion for craft beer and delighting customers is required. 

The Beer Crew will be responsible for working in the taproom as an ambassador to our customers. As a complete crew member, you will bartend, serve, bus and maintain the taproom at all times, all while providing high-touch, friendly service.

As a member of the nimble TALEA team, you’ll be joining a growing company and work closely with the Taproom General Manager, Taproom Managers, Head of Hospitality and Co-Founders - be prepared to get your hands dirty! Responsibilities 

• Educate customers and convey the TALEA brand through every interaction in the taproom 
• Serve TALEA taproom customers with unparalleled knowledge, expertise, and kindness 
• Operate the bar and floor with attention to detail, ensuring supplies are stocked and the space is clean and inviting at all times 
• Use Point of Sale system (Toast) and other TALEA systems to accurately record orders and process payments 
• Communicate thoughtfully, respectfully, and efficiently with coworkers and customers 
• Maintain a positive outlook and professional behavior under pressure 

Requirements 

• Passionate about craft beer, excited about TALEA’s vision, and obsessed with customer satisfaction 
• Enthusiastic and comfortable working for an early-stage company in a rapidly changing environment 
• Strong attention to detail 
• 1-3 years of experience in a customer service or bartending and serving setting preferred 
• Self-motivated and self-disciplined, you take initiative and work autonomously
• Must be 21 years of age or older 
• Ability to lift 25 pounds 
• Cicerone Certified Beer Server preferred 
• Available to work 8 hour shifts during days, evenings, weekends and holidays 

Compensation 

• This role is a hourly position 
• Employees will pool tips
