About Us:

Astra is a new elevated rooftop bar and restaurant experience, known for its curated cocktails, rooftop views, and high-volume service. We’re looking for a Beverage Prep Assistant to support our bar team with the behind-the-scenes prep that makes our drink program stand out.

This role is essential to ensuring our bartenders are fully stocked and ready for service. You’ll be responsible for preparing fresh juices, syrups, garnishes, batching cocktails, organizing bar stock, and keeping everything clean and compliant with health standards.

Responsibilities:

• Juice fresh citrus and other ingredients daily

• Prepare syrups, infusions, shrubs, and other cocktail components

• Batch cocktails according to recipes and volume needs

• Cut, prep, and store garnishes properly

• Maintain a clean and organized prep space and storage areas

• Track par levels and assist in reordering bar ingredients

• Label and date all prepared items to ensure freshness and safety

• Work closely with the bar manager and bartenders to anticipate daily prep needs

Requirements:

• Prior prep, or kitchen experience preferred – but not required if you’re eager to learn

• Can lift up to 50 lbs (you’ll be moving boxes, kegs, and citrus)

• Ability to follow detailed recipes and prep lists without constant supervision

• Organized and efficient – you can prioritize tasks and keep your station clean

• Punctual and dependable – this role sets up the bar for success every day

• Flexible availability – must be available for early morning and/or midday shifts

• Positive attitude and willingness to help the team – even with repetitive tasks

• Comfortable using basic kitchen tools and equipment (juicers, immersion blenders, knives, etc.)
