Under the direction of the Codes and Standards Administrator I , the incumbent acts as the technical expert and resource person for the Manufactured and Factory-Built Housing Programs (MH/FBH) and provides technical code and regulation interpretation and professional support and assistance to MH/FBH Program managers .

This job allows you to work from home for a set number of days each week, up to 1 day , depending on your agreement with the department.

HCD Disclosure Requirements

Selected candidates may be subject to rules imposed by a Conflict of Interest Code that apply to HCD employees, which may require filing a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700).

HCD conducts pre-employment background checks on all new to HCD or returning to HCD candidates. This position requires a background check to be cleared prior to being hired.

Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Knowledge of factory manufacturing processes and construction-related disciplines (engineering, architecture, and general construction practices)
• Experience in installation, repair, construction inspections, or code enforcement
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations (e.g., California Building Standards Code, HCD, model codes)
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and standards for compliance
• Experience writing reports and providing technical support related to codes and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Window-based systems, and other business software
• Strong communication skills and effective use of technology
• Willingness to travel statewide

Statement of Qualifications
