Job Description

Located in the heart of downtown Versailles, Kentucky the Aldenberg Hotel will bring an elegant white tablecloth steakhouse to life with a new and exciting hospitality group where we will pride ourselves in exquisitely refined classic American steakhouse fare. We are looking for eager and professional applicants to add to our growing team.

Silk's Steakhouse in Versailles is looking for the Host with the most. Positive attitudes and warm welcoming individuals are encouraged to apply. Previous hosting is desired, but not required. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Seating Guests:
    Efficiently seat guests at designated tables, considering group size, preferences, and server sections. 
  • Managing Waitlist:
    Maintain and manage the waitlist, providing accurate wait times and notifying guests when tables are available. 
  • Answering Inquiries:
    Answer phone calls, address guest inquiries, and provide information about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies. 
  • Maintaining Cleanliness:
    Ensure the front-of-house area, including the entrance, waiting area, and tables, are clean and organized. 
  • Assisting Staff:
    Assist other staff members as needed, such as clearing tables, restocking condiments, or folding silverware. 
  • Problem Solving:
    Address guest complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Knowledge of the Menu:
    Familiarize yourself with the menu and be able to answer questions about dishes and dietary options. 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact with guests in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Organization and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle unexpected situations and resolve guest issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of Restaurant Operations: Understanding of restaurant procedures and protocols.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other staff members. 
Physical Requirements:
  • Coordination:
    Work collaboratively with servers and other staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive guest experience. 
  • Greeting and Welcoming Guests:
    Warmly greet guests as they enter, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. 
  • Managing Reservations:
    Take reservations over the phone, online, or in person, and ensure accurate record-keeping. 
  • Standing and Walking:
    Hosts spend a significant portion of their shift standing at the host stand, greeting guests, and walking around the dining area to seat people or assist with other tasks. 
  • Bending, Stooping, and Lifting:
    Hosts may need to bend or stoop to retrieve items or assist with cleaning, and may occasionally lift light objects like trays or small boxes. 
  • Balance and Coordination:
    The ability to maintain balance while walking and moving around a busy dining area, especially when dealing with potential obstacles or navigating uneven surfaces, is important.
